crying in public

There isn't much to say or update anyone on these days. Every once in awhile I wake up and think "today might be the day" but our phone hasn't rung, so it obviously hasn't been our day yet.

Today we went to Walmart a couple of towns over. We like this particular store because the ones in town are kind of dirty and crowded, but we have to drive about 25 minutes to get to one that isn't half bad. And the husband wanted to wander around with me, so we drove over there.

That really isn't the point of the story. The point is that we hadn't been over to this store since last year when we were baby shopping. We ended up spending a ton of time in the baby section picking out some clothes and baby supplies and had a great time.

Today I cried in the store thinking about it.

I'm sorry. I'm praying you get a match soon.

It's okay to cry. Before we were matched I had to avoid the baby sections of all stores otherwise I would cry. The waiting is the hardest part and it seems to take the longest. I am sure that you have probably heard this a million times but once you are holding your baby in your arms, it will all be worth it. We waited about a year to be matched and it felt like an eternity but I wouldn't change a thing. When we first meet the birthparents, we felt a connection and after just our first meeting we all felt like family. Our son is now 16 months old and has changed our life! We still have a very open and wonderful relationship with his birthparents and their families.

Praying for you and your husband during the tough waiting period.

I cried in Nebraska Furniture Mart looking at cribs when we were pregnant. There is just so much anticipation and expectation and fear and not wanting to be disapointed involved. I imagine it was similar with you. I really hope the waiting will be over soon!

well you have company. i'm crying all the time now. stress does that to a person. waiting will just have to be part of your testimony...and what an amazing testimony it will be!! i can't wait until this whole thing comes together and we get to see the big picture of how God was working.

I just hate that for you. Wal-mart and church were my two places where I'd cry most often. Oh - and at the OBgyn's office.

I totally get that. I'm wondering if those days will return. I just had a chance to scroll through your timeline...we got married four weeks apart and starting TTC three months apart! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's been waiting a long time; I'm praying for a solid match soon for you!

I love this post. It reminds me of the many, many times I dissolved in tears in public. There was a time when I ranted that there should be separate "no baby" sections of stores and restaurants for those of us who simply couldn't bear to see another set of giant eyes and chubby cheeks squeezed into a fleece, bunny hoodie. Ugggh! I can't say anything to make your wait shorter or your heart lighter, except that God's hand is on it. I wish you peace.
